CA2M 709 is part of the vintage MAVRO series which is integral to Stranaska’s expanding product line of secondary calibration artifacts for analytical metrology (CA2M). Produced on demand and in limited quantities, the secondary calibration artifacts comprising this special series are designed for use in critical applications by the discerning users of optical transmittance spectrophotometers. The vintage MAVRO series is developed and maintained in tribute to the memory, appreciation, and mentorship of Dr. Radu Mavrodineanu, the “founding father” of NIST’s contemporary high-accuracy spectrophotometry program and its expansive array of primary Standard Reference Material (SRM) artifacts for analytical spectrophotometry.

INTENDED APPLICATION:
The use of CA2M 709 facilitates wavelength calibration and verification as part of science-based spectrophotometer qualification for quantitative methods in which wavelength scanning or typical absorbance measurements are performed between 240 nm and 650 nm. Spectrophotometer qualification using CA2M 709 is valid for those analytical methods run in the ultraviolet spectrum and also the visible spectrum.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Stranaska’s CA2M 709 is a secondary transfer standard which is meticulously patterned after NIST SRM 2034. The CA2M 709 standard is comprised of a percloric acid solution of holmium oxide sealed in a fused-silica cuvette of optical quality. The filter is stored in a protective black Delrin canister. The holmium oxide solution is calibrated for wavelength assignments corresponding to transmittance minima (absorbance maxima) for up to 14 different absorption bands for six different spectral bandpass specifications.

CERTIFICATE OF CALIBRATION:
The Certificate for CA2M 709 contains up to 14 certified wavelength values for each spectral bandpass specification. Metrological treatment is provided for the parameter certification with respect to its scope of calibration, measurement traceability chain, traceability pathway, timeline, and uncertainty budget.
